Meetings in Washington DC
October 18-23, 2009

Pugwash organized a visiting delegation from Pakistan for a wide-ranging series of meetings with State Department and Pentagon officials, former Bush administration officials, Congressional staff, South Asia experts, and the media, in Washington DC, October 18-23. 

The delegation was led by Pugwash Council member Gen. (ret.) Talat Masood, and included Gen. (ret.) Mahmed Durrani (former Ambassador to the US); Ejaz Haider (journalist with The Friday Times); Ahsan Iqbal (Member of Pakistan's National Assembly); Aziz Ahmad Khan (former Ambassador to Afghanistan); and Bilal Soofi (Research Society for International Law).   They were joined for part of the week by Brig. Feroz Khan (Monterey Institute of International Affairs) and Adil Najam (Boston University).
