Prof. Galia Golan-Gild joins Pugwash Council 27 July 2005
The Pugwash Council, meeting at the conclusion of the 55th Pugwash Conference in Hiroshima, extended an offer that was accepted by Prof. Galia Golan-Gild of Israel to join the Council.
Prof. Golan is Professor of Government, Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya, Israel, and Professor Emerita of the Department of Political Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She was formerly the Darwin Professor of Soviet and East European Studies, and Chair, Department of Political Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The President of Pugwash,
Prof. MS Swaminathan, and the Secretary General, Prof. Paolo Cotta-Ramusino,
expressed their pleasure with Prof. Golan having joined the Council,
noting the depth of her experience with the Arab-Israeli peace process
and Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation efforts. |
