Helsinki, 18 November 2011. Pugwash Secretary General Paolo Cotta-Ramusino and Senior Program Coordinator Sandy Butcher participate in symposium on “First steps of a Nuclear Dialogue in the Middle East”, organized by Finnish Pugwash Committee, in cooperation with Eric Castrèn Institute of International Law and Human Rights, Peace Union of Finland and Finnish Peace Committee. UN Under-Secretary Amb. Sergio Duarte was a special guest.

The 59th Pugwash Conference, European Contributions to Nuclear Disarmament & Conflict Resolution, took place at the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin, 1-4 July 2011. 350 people from 43 countries participated, including high level panels on topics ranging from the Middle East to South Asia to Fukushima.
